Jeff Bark

I chose Jeff Bark's work because I thought that the dark romantic narrative that was being presented in his series"Woodpecker" was very powerful. He constructs all of these scenes in his studio in Brooklyn. His images are incredibly cinematic and can almost look like an old painting from the around the times of the romantics. His work shows some ideas of youth, in oddly constructed narratives showing teens doing drugs, being involved in violence, disillusion, and sexual behaviors. I haven't found much of a bio on his, except that he was born in 1963 and works in Brooklyn and is represented by a gallery in London.
